Direct School Admission Information

What is Direct School Admission (DSA)?

The Direct School Admission Secondary (DSA-Sec) Exercise, introduced in 2004, seeks to promote holistic education by giving participating schools greater flexibility in selecting students while holding on to the key principles of transparency and meritocracy.

Under the DSA-Sec Exercise, participating schools will be able to select a percentage of their students for admission outside of the centralised posting system, via their own admission criteria, which may include diverse academic and non-academic achievements and talents. For students, DSA-Sec Exercise provides them the opportunity to demonstrate a more diverse range of achievements and talents in seeking admission to participating schools

Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools wisely based on the student’s aptitudes and strengths, bearing in mind the schools’ academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes available to develop the area of talent.
